Safety
We use professional-grade rope access equipment: certified full-body harnesses, dynamic kernmantle ropes, PETZL descenders, and CE/UIAA-rated helmets. Every piece of gear is inspected before every event day and rated to a minimum of 10 times the working load.
Every rappelling lane is staffed by a dedicated certified instructor for the full duration of the event. Additionally, a safety director oversees all four lanes from a central position with direct communication to each team. We maintain a participant-to-instructor ratio of no more than 4:1.
All instructors hold current IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) or SPRAT (Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians) certification. Our safety director holds a Level 3 IRATA certification, the highest available. Additionally, all staff are certified in first aid and emergency response.
We monitor weather conditions up to 72 hours in advance and make a go/no-go decision by 6am on each event day. In the event of high winds (>30 km/h at height), lightning, or heavy rain, the event will be postponed to an alternate date. All ticket holders will be notified by email and offered the alternate date or a full refund.
Participants must be between 18 and 65 years old. The minimum weight is 45 kg and maximum is 120 kg to ensure safe harness fit and rope rating compliance. Participants must be in reasonable physical health. If you have any concerns about a medical condition, we recommend consulting your doctor before booking.
The risk of an uncontrolled fall is effectively eliminated by our dual-redundant anchor system and the constant presence of a certified instructor. You are always connected to a minimum of two independent safety lines. Our instructors control your descent rate and can lock you in place at any moment.
Experience
From check-in to completing your descent, plan for approximately 45–60 minutes total. The actual rappel itself takes around 15 minutes depending on your pace. Check-in opens 30 minutes before your scheduled slot, which we recommend taking advantage of.
None at all. Off The Edge is designed for first-timers. Your certified instructor will walk you through everything you need to know in a thorough briefing before you step off. If you can walk, you can rappel.
The exact height depends on the building confirmed for the event — we'll announce this closer to the date. What we can tell you: it's high enough to take your breath away, but not so extreme that it goes beyond the enjoyable. Think 8–15 floors depending on the location.
Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing you can move in. Avoid loose scarves, open-toed shoes, or anything that could catch in equipment. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory — sneakers or hiking shoes are ideal. Long hair should be tied back. No jewellery on hands or wrists.
Yes. You can pause your descent at any point and your instructor will hold you in place. If you want to stop completely, we can bring you back up to the rooftop. Your safety and comfort come first, no questions asked. You're also welcome to try again later if a slot is available.
Logistics
The exact building address will be announced to ticket holders four weeks before the event via email. For the website and public comms, we describe it as an 'iconic Buenos Aires location' while building access is finalised. Rest assured it is a landmark building in a central neighbourhood with excellent transport access.
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled rappelling slot. This gives you time to check in, collect your gear, and complete your safety briefing without rushing. Doors open at 9:00am each day.
Public parking will be available nearby — specific details will be shared in your pre-event email. We strongly recommend public transport or rideshare given the central location. The event will be accessible via Buenos Aires' Subte metro network.
Absolutely. Spectators can watch from the festival area at ground level — there's no charge for spectators. If your guests want elevated viewing access, the VIP Rooftop Access add-on includes a designated spectator viewing area at height.
Entirely outdoors. The descent happens on the exterior façade of the building. The check-in, briefing, and festival areas are set up at street level. Come dressed appropriately for the weather.
Tickets & Refunds
Full refunds are available up to 14 days before the event (April 9, 2026). Between April 9 and 16, we offer a 50% refund or a full credit transferable to our next event. Within 7 days of the event, tickets are non-refundable. If we cancel or postpone the event for any reason, all ticket holders receive a full refund.
Yes on both counts. You can reschedule within the same event weekend (subject to slot availability) up to 48 hours before your original slot. You can also transfer your ticket to another person at no cost — just email us with the new participant name and email before April 16.
Early bird tickets follow the same refund policy as standard tickets. The discounted price applies regardless of when you booked.
Early bird pricing is available for the first 80 tickets sold, regardless of date. Once those 80 spots are gone, the standard price of $240 applies automatically. There is no specific end date — it ends when the tier sells out.
We price and process in USD. Our Stripe checkout supports most international credit and debit cards. Argentine pesos (ARS) are not currently accepted online, though we are exploring options for local payment methods.
